You can launch your preferred external editor from Dreamweaver to edit the source HTML for the current document, and then switch back to Dreamweaver to continue editing graphically. Dreamweaver detects any changes that have been saved to the document externally and prompts you to reload the document upon returning. See also External Editors preferences.
To choose an external editor:
1 | Choose Edit > Preferences. |
2 | Select General from the Category list on the left. |
3 | Click the Browse button next to the External Text Editor box to choose a text editor. |
4 | From the Synchronize External Files option, specify what you want Dreamweaver to do when it detects changes have been made externally to a document open in Dreamweaver. |
5 | From the On Text Editor Launch option, specify how Dreamweaver treats documents before launching the editor. |
